Warriors!!!!

I sit here at a high school basketball game where we have a variety of kids of all ethnic backgrounds, socioeconomic levels, church backgrounds and much more. The team we are rooting for are the warriors. Our team is playing even, but they continue to fight for the win. Do you think God watches sports? Especially when they are named warriors?

We are all called by God to be mighty warriors. He gives us the power of peace, joy, and a sound mind. We have the ability to overcome adversaries in the name of Christ. But God does not always make it easy! We have to fight, go and win!!!

Most of us get caught up in the fighting....focused only on how hard it is rather than the ending God has intended for us. All He asks of us is to go in His way. We call on Him to show up and He shows off. The fight is often a quick decision if we call on Him!

But what are we fighting for?

The Bible says that we should A.S.K! Matthew 7:7. Ask, seek, and knock. Ask Him to show you your warrior spirit and go out to win a victory for Him!!!! Because He is worthy of the effort to make His team the greatest ever with as many people as possible. Share with others that we are all mighty warriors. And our biggest fan is God. Our best coach is God. Our best player is God. He always has home court advantage. The visitor will never win. The visitor will always try hard, but victory remains forever in Jesus.

Time....to listen!

Why do we spend so much time wondering about what God wants us to do? I mean do we really think that we have to wait for some wonderful amazing miraculous sign? I prayed a prayer that is the conclusion of my worship service at the church I attend....this prayer is very simple and only a few words. "Holy Spirit...what are you trying to say to me today?" Simple and easy for even the most neophyte into Christianity to understand. But, I think many of us, including me that day, really do not want an answer and certainly do not expect to actually hear one. On that first day, I clearly heard three words, "write and listen." I looked around to see if anyone else heard these words. I expected to see others writing down these so clear words. But, it was only for me. It was like the speaker on the platform had told me a personal message.

But why do we need more? I know I have asked many times...are you sure that I need write? and what am I listening for? I have allowed fear and pride to hamper what I have been clearly called to do. I have spent many days finding ways to not be near the keyboard or away from the pen and paper that could actually answer my calling. Fear.....is not of God and is only of the evil one. Pride is a broken man who needs to die to self.

Over seven years ago, my son was born and I was able to witness a healing miracle that would rattle anyone. I watched it happen in my hands as only a meek believer. I started writing about this healing just a few days afterwards, and after several attempts over the years to go back to the original text, I have always failed to finish the work. Clearly this is what God was calling me to finish....my testimony. But there has been more that He has asked to me to add. My family has had many struggles that many others face... divorce, seperation, infidelity, spiritual seperation from God, blending families, and more. We have a testimony that is beyond belief most days, but we have been blessed with these challenges and have overcome one at a time by putting God in the center of everything we do. Failure no longer happens in our family...we just find one more way not to do something which gets us closer to what we are really trying to accomplish.

There is a joke that my kids tell from time to time talking about how there was a man that floating in the water far out from the beach, and a boat came by and asked if they could help him...the man said no answering with a simple "Nah...God will save me." Then after going further out from the coast, a big ship came by and one of the deck hands yelled down to save the man, but he responded simply with "Nah...God will save me." Then even further out where the man could no longer see land, a coast guard helicopter comes by to offer help, but the man refuses the help, saying to himself that "Nah...God will (gulp) (Gasp)" The man awakens walking through the gates of heaven. He asks God one question, "Why didn't you save me God?" God answers that "I sent you a boat, a ship and a helicopter...what more could I do?"

I feel like many people believe, but are holding back waiting for some push or miracle to get them to the next steps of what God is calling them to do. I know that I have denied this call for way to many years.

That ends now!!!!

I have so much more to share, and I will. Healing, miracles, freedom, blending families, missions, and testimony that will stand by the Blood of the Lamb.

Every day we are faced with a choice of what to do with the one commodity that is fleeting from us each second....time! I urge you to find what God is asking of you...and then DO IT!!!!! Each of us has something specific that God is calling us to do...just like He did to me that one day after worship. So, go ahead and ask Him.....repeat this in your heart or outloud..."Holy Spirit, what are you saying to me today?" Then be silent and listen...you just might hear you answer.
